Like I've said to karen, I really feel that being in a relationship is like doing accounts for two company.

Expenditure: What you are giving in order to have the relationship works. Instead of "Sundry Expenses" and "Machinery", it's "Care", "Concern","Worry", "Time", "Personal Space", "Privacy","Understanding", and "Tolerance".

Revenue: The effort made by the other party to have the relationship works. Instead of "Services" and "Loan Interest", it's "Care", "Concern","Worry", "Time", "Personal Space", "Privacy", "Understanding", and "Tolerance".

Notice that I didn't write any difference in the Revenue and Expenditures? Because I believe that everything should be equal for both parties. Also, everything ought to balance out in the end right? So, what you sow is what you reap...

I didn't know that POA would be so useful, or I would have listened to Mrs Tan more and make fun for her English lesser... LOL!

Anyway, continuing...

When the balance sheet becomes unbalanced, or when one party is receiving more than what s/he is giving up, it means that something is wrong, that's when you need to check through the balance sheet... Is something wrong with the giving party? Or is something wrong with the receiving party?

If you find that you are giving it your best and it's not being reciprocated, might it be that the "Debts" are slowly becoming "Bad Debts"? If it really is becoming "Bad Debts", what should be done is to write it off, so that the Balance sheet balance once more... Meaning that, if the other party is no longer reciprocating your efforts, maybe it really means that it's time to run among the proverbial Forest and search for that ideal proverbial Tree once more...
